A Poem for Maddie and Stephen

Dawn and her employee Janie attended a Becoming the Business Person That Grooms Workshop and on the last day presented us with this humorous spirited result. In the face of of MUCH adversity including a lack of room to expand their business, and their building's inability to hold or operate any more machinery or tools, and plenty of other obstacles, they still came to the Workshop and actively participated for 5 days. They departed with a resolve not to quit but to push forward and to find their way to go "from problems to profits." Dawn is referring to Maddie, author of the book, From Problems to Profits and President of Find A Groomer, Inc., and Stephen, Webmaster for PetGroomer.com.

It's the Madson Method
We'll solve your troubles
You present income
We'll more than double!

Just put yourself
In our capable hands
And we'll develop
A business plan

For Pampered Paws
It's do or die
Or come on puppies
Wave your tails goodbye!

We'll crunch the numbers
And do the math
So come on, Janie
You can do one more bath!

Well get to Ed (another seminar participant)
The math next time we meet
But HIS business plan
Is almost complete!

His daughter runs
A capable shop
The numbers are great
They make our eyes pop!

Where's Janie? She's missing!
I haven't a clue
But look for Retrievers
You'll find Janie too!

Steve (webmaster) is so patient
A kind and gentle spirit
Shaking his head at the numbers,
"They'll never come near it!"

We listen to Maddie
Who believes in a team
She teaches us all
To reach for our dream.

We don't have the dollars
We don't have the "sense"
To say, "Lets give up!,"
I guess we're just dense.

I don't care if you are
Asleep on the floor
Having done 90 puppies
There's still room for more.

Just line them all up
We're ready to groom
So what if it's crowded
In our hot little room.

Please gather your scissors
Your clippers and scissors
And just do the numbers
Don't forget the T-Touch!

Maybe someday we'll rest
On our laurels and say
Thanks Steve and Maddie
For pointing the way!
