Slicker brush and steel comb (for long coat), rubber brush (smooth coat), natural bristle brush and scissors.

COAT & GROOM TIPS

The long coat should have a full neck, ears with long hair and a full tail. The smooth coat may need a light touch up with blending shears to remove any hairs along the back, thighs, back of legs and neck that obstruct the smoothness. The long coat Chihuahua will need a little more frequent maintenance brushing and combing between full groomings.

MORE GROOMING TIPS FOR PROFESSIONALS

This breed should never look scissored or clipped, simply neaten their appearance.

Careful. It's easy to get water in the ears of this breed when bathing. This breed responds especially poorly to water allowed in the ear with health conditions. Use cotton balls and caution to prevent that from happening.

Multi-Breed Books

These books contain little or no breed specific grooming information. They do provide very good to excellent general breed information. Of course, having pictures of the breed is a great help when grooming the breed compared to having nothing else.
