Certification
and vocational licensing are popular topics.
Career seekers often confuse the 2 levels of
recognition. Certification is entirely
voluntary in every U.S. state. Vocational
licensing is managed by each U.S. state
government, however, as of Spring 2007 not one
U.S. state government requires groomers to be
vocationally licensed.
In 2006 and 2007
there has been a record increase in activity
by some state governments to consider or
propose vocational licensing. You can stay on
top of this activity by accessing the
Certification and Licensing Forum at the
GroomerTALK Message Board.
