The tools of the trade are many for pet groomers, and they include various types of scissors, clippers, blades and even large equipment like dryers. Here we cover mostly the tools, but we mention dryers because often scissor and blade sharpeners also offer dryer repair services.

Occasionally we add some good clipper maintenance tips here. Most clipper repair people tell us that groomers untrained in maintenance techniques either wear out their clippers early, or they do more harm than good trying to maintain their equipment without training.
Your grooming tools are an important part of your livelihood and a major investment. Learning how to maintain tools and equipment is just as important as learning the art of pet grooming.
