Did you know that know that "vocational licensing" of pet groomer doesn't even exist in any 1 of the 50 U.S. states? However did you know since 2004 at least 1 U.S. has proceeded to develop a vocational licensing bill in their state legislature? Did you know that certification is voluntary and that there are excellent certification programs awaiting your interest? No? Read on!

Vocational licensing requires government management. This topic continues to grow in importance and we have expanded our coverage with several pages. Therefore we have moved information from here to the new locations. In addition, we stay on top of things daily with any information received in a special licensing and certification forum on the GroomerTALK Message Board.

Groomer certification is voluntary. It can be a confusing topic for one reason. Generally, any company can certify groomers; the act of certifying doesn't require government approval although if it is a school they probably need approval. What is required is a strong level of credibility for the company offering certification. You must learn to choose a highly-credible, highly-recognized company to certify you if you expect your certification to impress others and put "gold stars" on your professional resume.
