Cocker Spaniels I have found that on red cockers that there's a color difference - but on other colors there's not. You can see where on the feathering where you've used scissors on a red and where it's been stripped as the scissored part turns out lighter. I use a Coat King on my hand stripped cockers and use thinning scissors down the front of the legs, but normal scissors for the feathering. Depending on the owner's preference, I sometimes clip the head and throat and sometimes use thinning scissors. I get good results from the Coat King, but I'm questioning some of the ones with a slightly curly coat as they now seem really curly to me and I can't get them to lay flat (even though I dry them with a towel over the backs to lay them smooth) so they always look a bit untidy.
