Use Paper Towels to Dry Out Ears

It doesn't matter if you intended to get water in the ears or not. Use plain Bounty paper towels (it's very absorbent) made into 3" x 3" squares to remove it right after the bath. Tear off several single sheets of Bounty paper towels and lay them on top of each other. Use scissors to cut them into approx. 3" x 9" strips. Then cut them again 2 more times to make 3"x 3" squares. (One sheet will make 9 squares). Take a single square, fold in half, and fold in half again to make a 1"x 1" square. Twist the folded corner to make a point and gently place this into the dog's ear. Leave enough of the tail part sticking out to easily grab onto to remove. Repeat for the other ear. When the dog shakes his head/body to dry himself the water in the canal is absorbed by the paper towel. After two or three shakes remove it. This size works well for many dogs. For larger dogs, cut the paper towel in half rather than in thirds to begin with. This really works great! I don't use cotton anymore to prevent the water from getting in- instead I just do this.
