"Lily"

Meet Lily! She was listed at the Ellis County Shelter as a young Old English mix. A nice and savvy man went there looking to save a life. He loved Lily the instant he saw her and suspected that she was part Poodle. He called us as he was leaving the shelter to see if we could shave her down. It was late on Saturday but he wanted to clean her up before taking her home. His description lead us to believe she was a “little” Poodle mix. When we saw her we were sure she was a Standard Poodle and much larger than we agreed to do, but he explained that he had previously owned Great Danes so to him she was a little Poodle! I went to work on this scared and filthy creature and what do you know, a real gem emerged! She is a very light Apricot Poodle. In fact, he called the local newspaper and they did an article on Lily and the wonderful new shelter he got her from. The story told how a really great and purebred dog could be hidden under previous neglect, and invited the community to come look there before getting a dog elsewhere. Lily now comes in regularly for her groom and her owner still loves her and dotes on her.
