Gigi's owner sternly told me she did NOT want her dog shaved as she handed me a newspaper clipping of the Bichon Frise that won Westminster a few years ago. "I want her to look like THIS!" I concentrated on not laughing as I attempted to simply get my hands on this little mop! The phrase "I'm a doggie beautician, not a magician" popped into my head."

After a few questions, I learned that Gigi was 4 years old dog and had been stripped at a year old. Her owner vowed never to bring the dog to a groomer again. For the last 3 years she brushed and bathed the dog as best as she could, cutting out mats here and there. I knew Gigi would never see a grooming shop again if I did not indeed become the "magician!" Although I know it's not a "perfect" Bichon trim, I found a beautiful little dog in all that mess. Both Gigi and her owner left the shop with smiles full of pride. I'm sure I'll see them both again very soon. I love my job!
