This is a Lhasa mix, Sadie. She had never received veterinary care or grooming of any kind. She was finally saved when she came to me for her very first groom at 3 yrs old. It brought tears to my eyes to see a dog in such terrible shape. Matted hair so encrusted with dirt, debris & food made it impossible for her to open her left eye. She could only eat on one side of her mouth & her left ear was stuck to her head. Her legs were so matted she looked like she had casts on all four and her nails were so long they curled around twice! The hair from her pads wrapped around & tangled with her leg hair so you couldn't even see her feet! It took 3 hrs to pre-groom before bath with over 10 lbs of hair removed. Surprisingly, she was a perfect angel through the whole ordeal. After a very direct but professional discussion with the owner, we got Sadie on a regular grooming schedule and routine veterinary care. She is a much happier dog today and loves her groomer for saving her!
