"Sweetpea" Sweetpea was an adoption from the local SPCA. Her new owners had just gotten her on a 2 week trial, which is the way our SPCA lets people see if they are a good match. The new owners had her for an hour and decided she wasn’t going back and she was going to get groomed. That’s where I came in. They called up and I told them I could fit her in (I’m a sucker for rescue dogs). When Sweetpea showed up she was a very shy dog but very sweet hence the probable reason for her name.. I told her new owners I would do what I could but she was very matted and it would be short but she would feel better. I tried to use the longest blade possible starting with a #7F but had to use a #10 on her legs and belly regions to get off the mats. She was matted tightly between the rear legs and her privates were very irritated. A Milk bath helped with all the irritations. A #8 1/2 was used after the drying to smooth her out and a #3F on the ears. Her face was then scissored to be more proportionate to her body. Her new owners were thrilled to see the pretty dog under the mats and couldn’t wait to get her home and settled in. She was a much happier dog when she left. I was glad to be of help!
