I would like you to meet Maddie, a pedigree poodle. Maddie's mom said she would not stay in the house and so, she spent two whole years as an outside dog among the donkeys on a farm! She came to me, apologetic and near begging, wanting to get Maddie inside their new house (no more farm). When Maddie came to me, poor baby, her posture could only be described as "ashamed." I talked to her and told her just how special she was while we worked. She had manure, clay, hay, and her own feces caked and twisted into dangling mats. I didn't pull on Maddie's mats, I just took them away. As I did Maddie began to lose that shame and get more and more happy! I still find it amazingly wonderful that she had no wounds, sores, or signs of ear or eye problems. She did not end up with a pattern so she and I named her "do" Kelly's Cleopatra cut and we both were proud of her beauty. Maddie is gorgeous inside and out now, and her mom and I aim to keep it that way! She tells me that Maddie now wants to stay in the house, knows she is gorgeous, and is enjoying sitting close to everyone on the couch (I think it was the Cleopatra in her new do). The day I spent with Maddie was Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - that was a great day!
