This is Timmy, a Standard Poodle. He came into my shop in Spring 2005. Two ladies who had never owned a poodle before got him in the Fall of 2004 in order to breed Labradoodles. When they brought him in they said they hadn't known what to do with Poodle hair over the winter, so they just did nothing. I told them I would do what I could but not to expect a fluffy Poodle when they returned. I started with a 10 on his face, head and ears to try to get him to where he could see. From that point I used a combination of 10 - 15 and even a 40 on some areas. The majority of his coat came off like one big pelt. I pulled dreadlocks of dead black funky hair out of his ears. He got a couple soothing baths and once dried got a finish cut to even things out. The biggest challenge I had with Timmy was trying to groom him through the shower of appreciative kisses he rained on me.
