Mrs. Donna Owens has been a Professional All Breed Groomer for over 23 years. In 1977 Donna began her training as a pet stylist in a small shop in Placentia, CA as the age of 15. Donna trained under Sue Rucker, a breeder of show and field Irish Setters. Donna attributes most the "grooming humanely" and "thinking the way a dog thinks" philosophy she currently teaches to students to her training from Sue. Donna also trained with Bouvier breeder and handler, Judy Higgens, and who also introduced her to hand stripping.

Donna Owens attended Cypress College and earned an Associate Science Degree in 1983. She honored in Psychology which she believes helps her to relate to the many different types of students she encounters and enables her to be the best teacher she can be for the benefits of all her students.

In 1987 Donna became an owner, handler and breeder of Champion German Wirehaired Pointers. Donna was proud to have earned one of the N.A.V.D.A. titled German Wirehaired Pointers from California. The added plus was that it was a female out of the litter that Donna had produced named "Scoresby." "Scoresby" also became a Champion, earned a Hunting Title and has since produced several Champions.

Donna began grooming competitively in 1986 and by 1987 won her first Best All Around Groomer Title at the W.W.P.S.A. trade show in Long Beach, CA. She remained a successful competitive groomer for nearly a decade as International and National winner of over 50 awards and titles. She was a 1993 GroomTeam USA member and took the Gold in the Non-Sporting class and the 1993 GroomTeam USA won the overall Gold at the World Team Competitions!

Photo Donna has won multiple titles in the Creative Grooming competition classes and was the winner at Groom Expo West in 1995. She was featured on the cover of Groomer to Groomer magazine in the U.S. and on the cover of Groomer magazine in Korea in 1995. In 1993, she was ranked as the #5 groomer in the U.S. and one of the top 25 groomers in the world in 1995 competing at the Oster Invitational. She was also a nominee for the prestigious Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for "Congeniality" in 1993 and "Groomer of the Year" in 1994.

During her professional career Donna also successfully managed 3 prominent Southern California grooming salons. Donna remains active grooming the top Champion Red and White Setter and the top Jack Russell Terrier in California. She also remains active in the pet industry as a well-respected grooming contest judge and industry speaker.
