The Missouri School of Dog Grooming opened its doors in 1987 as Eastern Missouri's first professional grooming school. Barbara founded the school to meet the needs of the students and the pet care industry. In 1993 the school moved to a new location, designed and built just for grooming training. With years of experience Barbara has refined instruction to help each student gain the skills and confidence of a professional Groomer in a remarkably short period of time. The Missouri School of Dog Grooming is St. Louis' only facility dedicated to grooming and groomer education. For decades Barbara has worked to promote the image of the Professional Groomer. She has helped develop professional organizations and advanced professional certification as recognition for qualified Groomers. Barbara is the only instructor in Missouri to have earned the title of Certified Master Groomer.

For students interested in the business of pet grooming; managing a shop or starting their own business, The Missouri School of Dog Grooming offers training that includes instruction in business management, marketing, client relations, personnel management, and after graduation assistance in start up business planning.
