Scholarships are rare in pet grooming and many years there were none. However, they are becoming more popular. Below you will find information about current and past scholarships.

2007

We are pleased to announce a $5,000 scholarship by the Florida Institute of Animal Arts in 2007. You can read the details on the GroomerTALK Message Board (registration not required). Apply directly with the Institute.

Terms & Conditions - Eligibility Requirements
  1. By applying for a scholarship you acknowledge your complete agreement with these terms and conditions presented here and that you meet all of the eligibility requirements stated here.
  2. You must be a U.S. citizen or Canadian citizen 18 years of age or older as of January 1, 2007.
  3. You must meet all of the eligibility requirements posted here as well as the those of the school or program you apply for here. This includes the physical capacity to groom pets as described by the school, program or home study course you are awarded. Further you must comply with all of the requirements of any student attending the program or school you are awarded.
  4. Essays will be judged on how your lifestyle will be improved by attending a grooming school or program.
  5. Scholarships are limited to the tuition and registration fees of the school, program you are awarded, or home study course materials. Scholarships do NOT include any travel, lodging, per diems or other living and household expenses before, during or after your school or program attendance. You are entirely responsible for those expenses.
  6. You may not sell, barter, trade, transfer or cash out your scholarship award.
  7. You may apply for 1 scholarship only in 2006 with Find A Groomer Inc. You must state the scholarship you are applying for when you submit your essay to Find A Groomer Inc. Send your essay to the offices of Find A Groomer Inc. and NOT the school or program you desire. Find A Groomer Inc., PO Box 2489, Yelm, WA 98597. You may use postal mail or send by email. We are not responsible for applications forwarded anywhere else other than Find A Groomer Inc. offices, and we are not responsible for applications that do not reach our offices due to problems with postal mail, courier delivery or transmission problems over the Internet. If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt of your application within 30 days of sending it to Find A Groomer Inc. contact our offices. KEEP A COPY OF YOUR COMPLETE APPLICATION IN YOUR PERSONAL FILES.
  8. If you are awarded a scholarship, you must complete the standard required student contract with the school or program as required. If you do not your scholarship will become void, and if it is discovered you do not meet all of the institution's eligibility requirements and you can thereby not attend, your scholarship will become void.
  9. Scholarships will be awarded March 1, 2007. You must enroll and start the school or program which you are awarded within 6 months of that date (September 1, 2007). If you are awarded a home study course you must redeem your scholarship for product and services within the same time limitation.
  10. You are responsible for the required student toolkit for the school, program or home study course you are awarded. Find A Groomer Inc. (PetGroomer.com) will award up to $500 in required tools towards your toolkit. You are responsible for the balance where toolkits require more than a $500 investment. If you do not have the required toolkit specified by the school, program or home study course you may be ineligible to attend the awarded school or program and in such case the scholarship may be voided. Please check with school, program or home study course for the required toolkit materials before you apply for a scholarship. You are responsible for any taxes that may apply to your receiving a scholarship or toolbox supplement. Payment will be made only when Find A Groomer Inc. has verified with the owner of the educational opportunity you won that you have successfully and fully-completed enrollment and meet their qualifications to attend. No payments will be made more than 21 days before you are scheduled to attend after successfully meeting all enrollment requirements. Payments for toolboxes will be made directly to the school or home study business wherever possible when they provide or sell toolboxes to their students.
  11. Your essay must be written in English and include at least 250 words and not more than 1,000 words. Further it must include all of the following: your full legal name, legal mailing address, telephone and date of birth. We do not require, but highly suggest, you send us a picture as well. Pictures of winners and their essays will be published here at PetGroomer.com. We encourage you to also relate any previous experience you may have had working with pets and ensuring our judges that you have the respect and patience to work with pets including dogs and cats.
  12. If you are awarded a scholarship and before you attend your school or program, it becomes no longer available by reasons of the institution being no longer in business, or similar reasoning, you may keep the tools and/or toolbox supplied by Find A Groomer Inc. You will not be entitled to any other alternate grooming schooling or programming elsewhere. It is beyond the control of Find A Groomer Inc. to ensure that scholarships can be redeemed by third parties providing the grooming training, and therefore we urge you to attend your school or program as soon as possible once awarded.
  13. Your scholarship may not be converted in whole or part into cash or other forms of currency, nor may it be substituted in any manner. Should you discontinue attending your awarded school or program for any reason, or you can no longer attend because of any violations of the terms and conditions of attendance, you will not be eligible for any refunds or reimbursements related to the scholarship's tuition and registrations fees coverage, nor will you be entitled to a replacement scholarship.
  14. You acknowledge that Find A Groomer Inc. (owner operator of PetGroomer.com) is acting only as the distributor of scholarships, and makes no guarantees, assurances or endorsements related to the grooming schools participating in this program. Further, you acknowledge that Find A Groomer Inc. does not make any guarantees, assurances or endorsements of the quality, content or applicability of the training you are provided. You are required to conduct further due diligence to ensure that the school or program you desire is appropriately licensed when you attend (where required) and that the program is appropriate for you and your goals to gain grooming training. Further, no assurances of employment or self-employment are provided by being awarded a scholarship. You release and hold harmless PetGroomer.com, Find A Groomer Inc., its affiliates and advertisers (except the school or program providing you with training) of any and all claims originating between you and the school or program.
  15. All entries will be judged by 2 representative arranged by Find A Groomer Inc. and 1 representative of the school, program or home study provider for their respective scholarship award.
  16. Void where prohibited. You are also liable for any and all Federal, State or local taxes related to the award. You may required to provide a valid Tax I.D. number before you receive your scholarship. You are entirely responsible for any income, use, sales or other taxes assessed on the value of your scholarship and toolbox supplement. As required your scholarship and toolbox supplement value will be reported to the appropriate tax authorities.
  17. If you are chosen to receive a scholarship you will be required to complete and sign an eligibility certificate provided to you by Find A Groomer Inc. in which your eligibility will be verified before you are officially awarded with a scholarship or toolbox assistance using a Scholarship Claim Form. The form must be completed and returned to Find A Groomer Inc. by April 1, 2007.
  18. Limit 1 scholarship per person. Subject to change without notice.
