A
Few Words From the Instructor
My name is Nancy McClain and I am the owner and instructor of Diamond
Cut Dog Grooming School. I have been a professional dog groomer for
the past 35 years and have been a professional certified groomer since
1976.
In 1997 I was chosen as a participant
of Career Day at Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio and A.I.
Root School in Medina, Ohio. When I received the letter from Dr. Susan
L. Forrer requesting my participation in this event, I was very
honored. I was able to interact with over 1,300 students and had the
opportunity to discuss a myriad of career choices in the profession of
Professional Dog Grooming.
I have always loved the profession of
dog grooming because it can be a very happy experience for both the
groomer and the pet. Safety for the pet as well as the groomer is the
NUMBER ONE FACTOR taught in our classes for becoming a Professional
Certified Dog Groomer. It is also important to attend a school for
certification because you are taught the correct way to groom.
Our grooming shop is wheelchair
accessible and is equipped with the latest equipment. We have a
hydraulic table and ramps, so there is no heavy lifting. We use all
natural grooming products and discourage the use of harsh chemicals on
the animals we groom. Our mission is to make grooming pleasant for
both the groomer and the pet. I look forward to seeing you in my next
class!

Please check our school out before
making any final decisions on choosing a school for dog grooming.
I have taught students nationwide
from Florida to Alaska. I think it takes a special person to teach dog
grooming. There are many people in the industry that should not be in
it! Do not be fooled by claims of awards and accreditation. A student
will only be as kind and caring as their instructor. I feel taking
your dog to the groomer is like taking your child to a day care
center. We have set a new standard in the pet industry for a new
generation of compassionate, responsible, safe groomers. Groomers from
my school can be trusted with animals. Please visit our website for
