Book Description
Whether they are coping with finicky pets or ordering supplies needed for day-to-day operation, boarding kennel proprietors face many challenges.
Here is a detailed description of the boarding kennel business, the problems kennel managers encounter, and ways to solve these problems. The fundamentals of good physical facilities and equipment are examined: types of pet enclosures, materials and construction, fencing, plumbing and waste disposal. In addition the book realistically discusses the advantages and drawbacks of buying an existing kennel compared with building a new facility, and tells you what you should consider if you are planning to expand or enlarge your kennel. Providing top-quality care for the animals is emphasized in chapters on prevention and treatment of common pet diseases and preparation of nutritious food. You'll find many practical suggestions for performing routine activities, establishing good customer relations and increasing kennel profits by offering additional pet services. Boarding Kennel Management gives you useful information about how to run your kennel effectively and build up a satisfied clientele.
